Una vez archivada por la historia la coyuntura unipolar, el sistema occidental liderado por los estadounidenses parece haber entrado en una crisis irreversible. El crac económico-financiero y la pérdida de un seguro pilar del edificio geopolítico occidental, el ofrecido por Turquía, corroboran el fin del impulso propulsor estadounidense. Los EE.UU se hallan actualmente ante una decisión histórica: arrinconar el proyecto de supremacía mundial y, por consiguiente, compartir con los demás actores globales las opciones existentes en la política y en la economía internacional, o bien insistir en el proyecto hegemónico y arriesgar su propia supervivencia como nación. La elección entre una y otra opción vendrá impuesta por las relaciones que se instaurarán, en el corto y medio plazo, entre los grupos de presión que condicionan la política exterior americana y la evolución del proceso multipolar.

Финансово-экономический крах и потеря такого важного звена Западной геополитической системы, как Турция, свидетельствует о том, что движущая сила США себя исчерпала. В данный момент США находится на грани принятия эпохального решения – отказаться от планов на всемирное господство, то есть разделить с другими крупными мировыми игроками решение вопросов международной политики и экономики, или же настаивать на своих гегемонистических проектах, подвергая таким образом риску свое собственное выживание как нации. Тот или иной выбор будет зависеть от краткосрочных и среднесрочных отношений, которые будут установлены между группами давления, обуславливающие внешнюю политику США, и от развития процесса многополярной системы.

The unipolar system , which seems to have been filed by history, has entered a deep crisis together with the U.S. – led Western system. The economic and financial collapse and the loss of a reliable partner in the “geopolitical building” such as Turkey determined the end of the U.S. expansion. The U.S. are now on the crest of a very important decision: shelving the project of the world supremacy, and therefore sharing the political and economic choices with other global actors, or instead, insisting on the hegemonic plan, risking their very survival as a nation. The choice will be dictated by the relations that will be established in the short to medium term, among the pressure groups that influence the U.S. foreign policy and the evolution of the multipolar system.

Interviewed by IRNA (Press Agency of Iran) on the recent events in Egypt, Tiberio Graziani, Director of “Eurasia. Italian Journal of Geopolitics” and president of IsAG - Institute of High Studies in Geopolitics and Auxiliary Sciences, stated the following.

Rivista di Studi Geopolitici” (www.eurasia-rivista.org) et président de l'“IsAG - Istituto di Alti Studi Geopolitici e Scienze Ausiliarie”, a fait la déclaration suivante.

Entrevistado por la agencia IRNA (agencia de la Republica Islamica de Iran) acerca de los recientes acontecimientos que se están verificando en Egipto, Tiberio Graziani, director de Eurasia. Revista de Estudios Geopolíticos, y presidente del IsAG – Instituto de Altos Estudios de Geopolítica y Ciencias Auxiliarias, ha concedido la siguiente declaración.

The aim of this article is to cast light on the positive processes of south-Asian economic integration. It is divided into two principal parts. The first one is intended to describe the state of economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Pakistan focusing on the new transit trade agreement and on its capabilities to turn these two countries into a fundamental junction of the south-Asian trade. The second one concerns regional integration’s projects with a special focus on the energy field, which could result in the building of physical links in terms of gas and oil pipelines throughout the south-central Asian continent as well as in the satisfaction of the growing energy needs of countries like India and Pakistan. These two sections will be followed by a conclusion in which I’ll try to sum up the current state of the integration, underlining the weaknesses of this process and the main obstacles that it has to face.
